R and R Enterprizes donates time to car care program

Ray Rutten, owner of R and R Enterprizes, recently called the Douglas County Car Care Program and asked if he could help.

When the One-a-Month program was explained to him, he said, “Yes, I want to do that.” He agreed to fix no more than one vehicle a month for the Douglas County Car Care Program without charging for his labor.

Rutten replaced the strut and muffler on a 1994 Ford Taurus that was recently donated and also fabricated an attachment for the power winch for the Kar Kaddy.

DCCCP is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that receives donated cars, repairs them and then gives them to needy residents of Douglas County.

If someone already owns a vehicle but can’t afford to fix it, DCCCP can spend up to $300 in vehicle repairs, using primarily volunteers on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

These repairs are completed at Koep’s Korner or Juettner Motors in Alexandria.
