Lake Carlos State Park to celebrate Fall Festival Saturday

Lake Carlos State Park will celebrate its Fall Festival this Saturday, October 5 with a variety of family-geared events.

It will take place at the Lakeview Group Camp from 110 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants will enjoy the rich colors of fall while learning about the history of the park and those who came before us.

The public is invited to explore the park and hike the trails on their own, while enjoying the fall colors or participate in one of the many activities going on during the event.

This is an open house style program, so people can stay for an hour or stay all day. Activities include:

--Harvest games

--Leaf crafts

--Archery in the park (call park to register)

--Dutch oven cooking demonstrations

--Flint and steel fire making

--And more.

Events are all free, but a vehicle permit is required to enter the state park and can be purchased at the park office for $5/day or $25/year.
