Resorters Golf Tournament: Masters Division, Tuesday

Here's the latest action from the Resorters Golf Tournament's Masters Division as of Tuesday night:

Two Resorters regulars with a combined 14 titles between them led the Masters Field during qualifying by being the only two to shoot in the 70s on Monday.

Ron Clayton, an eight-time Resorters champ from Sarasota, Florida, set the tone with a 77, while George Cliff of Mankato, a six-time title winner, was right behind him with a 78. Clayton and Cliff will head into match play as the second and third seeds, respectively, behind only defending champion Tom Eidsvold of Alexandria, who returns as the top seed.

Mike Golden of Alexandria and Jim Weinzetl of Plymouth grabbed the last two spots in the championship flight by shooting 90 on Monday. Former champion Dick Lasch (1991 Execs) of Circle Pines carded an 83 to make the field. Jim Fitzgerald (2000 Super Seniors champ) had an 85 to grab the 13th seed, while Alexandria's Dave Harris, the 1998 and 2006 Senior champ, is the fourth seed after shooting an 81 during qualifying.

The Masters Division will get going off the 10th tee box today at 1:12 p.m. when Eidsvold battles Weinzetl and Lasch takes on Larry Petersen of Albert Lea.
