The Alexandria area will be featured on Fishing the Midwest TV show the weekend of March 9-10. The Fishing the Midwest crew fished in the Alexandria area in October with Chuck Bokinskie and Joe Scegura of Alexandria.

"I've fished in the Alexandria area many times through the years, but in recent years, I've focused on the largemouth bass fishing. The bass fishing around Alex is some of the best anywhere," said Bob Jensen, host and executive producer of the show.

According to Bokinskie, there has been an aggressive walleye stocking program in some of the area lakes, heightening walleye action.

"In addition to the outstanding fishing, the Alexandria area has some very unique attractions that will be included in the show," Jensen said.

Fishing the Midwest is an award-winning television series that features Midwest fishing hotspots and techniques.

The episode featuring the Alexandria area will be seen on Midwest-based network affiliates and cable carriers and over satellite systems nationwide.

In the Alexandria area, watch Fishing the Midwest at 11 a.m. on Fox Sports North or on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. on KSTC-TV.
