The Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum's Maritime Gardens is taking shape in Alexandria.

Wednesday morning the main event stage, constructed by Innovated and made possible through a donation by Bruce and Kathleen Pohlig, was erected on the waterfront. The foundation of the stage is made of pavers. A sail-themed canopy will be added to the framework, hoisted into place on June 27.

Waterfalls trickle through the property and an anonymous donor gifted a new white gazebo designed by Getz Construction to the grounds. Bitzan/Ohren Masonry, Warren's Electric, Alexandria Concrete, Brundell Landscaping and Colorful Season's have made significant contributions to these latest developments in the Maritime Gardens project.
