State to sell surplus vehicles, snowmobiles, bikes at auction

The Minnesota Department of Administration announces the first live auction for the 2012 State auction season. From cars, trucks and boats to snowmobiles and snow blowers, the state's March 24 surplus auction in Arden Hills offers something for nearly everyone.

The public auction of state and local government surplus property will include:

--Approximately 140 cars and trucks / Boats/Motor/Trailer packages, equipment trailers / Blacktop Roller / Polaris and Ski-Doo snowmobiles / Many miscellaneous items including air compressor, generators, John Deer F932 mower, snow blowers, automotive shop equipment.

The auction opens for inspection and registration at 8 a.m., with bidding beginning at about 9:30 a.m. at the Department of Administration Fleet and Surplus Services building, 5420 Old Highway 8 (southeast corner of Interstate 35W and Ramsey County Road I), Arden Hills. All goods are sold as-is, where-is; all sales are final and must be settled in full with cash or personal check the day of the auction.

Registration and bidding numbers are both available online. The only requirements are a computer with an Internet connection and a printer; simple instructions are on the Surplus Services website,, then click on the "Auctions" link. Current customers of the state's MinnBid Internet auction service can get a bidding card online in just seconds.
