Mental health first aid course in Alexandria

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota will hold a free Mental Health First Aid interactive training course in Alexandria designed to teach basic first aid skills needed to help a person who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.

This 12-hour course is aimed at improving mental health literacy.

It will be held April 7 and 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 605 Douglas Street in Alexandria.

Understanding and recognizing the signs that someone needs help is the first step in getting that person appropriate care and treatment. To register for this course, or for more detailed information, contact NAMI Minnesota at 1-888-NAMI-Helps.
