'Go Fish' event raises $2,400 for Jingle Bells

Contributed A big crowd was on hand to enjoy the Christian vocal and percussion group, "Go Fish," at the Lake Geneva Christian Center.

Fun and funds. Those were the two things in abundance at the September 19 "Go Fish" concert at the Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria.

For the estimated 1,500 area residents in attendance, the music and message of the Dove Award-nominated vocal and percussion group was top rate. And, thanks to the generosity of those in attendance together with $500 from the Douglas County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, more than $2,400 was raised to support the Alexandria Jaycee's "Jingle Bells" program.

"We are delighted with both the success of the concert and with the dollars we were able to raise for this season's Jingle Bells program," said Doug Ahrenstorff, Thrivent Financial for Lutheran's managing partner of the northwestern Minnesota - eastern North Dakota regional financial office in Alexandria.

Concert sponsors included Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Quick Attach, Karrow Jewelers, Anderson Funeral Home, Advantage Rehab, Glenwood State Bank, Billmark's Lakes Area Insurance, Viking Savings Bank, Zion Lutheran School and Creative Impact Design.
