Dance the night away: Annual Hangar Dance planned for June 12

It's time to get your dancin' shoes shined and your clothes pressed and ready to go.

The Douglas County Historical Society is proud to present its annual Hangar Dance.

The fundraising event is set for Saturday, June 12 from 7 to 11 p.m. It will take place at Chandler Field at the Alexandria Airport.

The evening will feature:

•Dancing to the music of Doc's All Stars.

•Food and drink catered by Depot Express.

•Dancing by the Runestone Rockettes.

•A grand march for those who dress in period costume.

•Raffle prizes and much more.

Rachel Barduson, director of the Douglas County Historical Society, also noted that during the intermission, there will be "a live 1940s radio show" featuring Joe Korkowski, Patty Wicken and Sandy Susag as radio characters, along with the local group the Hot Dishes, who will be performing their own songs with custom written jingles for the evening's sponsors.

The sponsors include Bremer Bank, Life Stage Wealth Management, Elden's Food Fair, Tastefully Simple, Glenwood State Bank and the Alexson and Belmont apartments.

Tickets for the event will be sold at the door the evening of the event or prior to the event at the following locations: Elden's Food Fair, Pete's County Market, Trumm Drug and the Douglas County Historical Society.

The cost of the tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple.

A table of eight is also available for $225. Table of eight tickets are only sold at the Douglas County Historical Society.
