Get ready to laugh! Prairie Event Center to host comedy night

The Prairie Event Center is proud to present a night of comedy.

The event will feature Scott Novotny and friends, including Jodie Maruska, David Harris, Jason Schommer and the host and producer of the show, Rox Tarrant.

The Parkers Prairie Comedy Night is scheduled for Saturday, May 15 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $17 at the door. They are available at the Parkers Prairie City Hall and Dick's Standard.

A high-energy act, Novotny's wacky, goofy style has made him one of the Midwest's top comedy entertainers.

He has been seen on Comedy Central, Comedy on the Road and MTV.

With more than 25 years of experience in comedy, Novotny has performed in Medora, North Dakota, the Minnesota State Fair, the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, California and in Branson, Missouri.

In addition, he has performed at Dudley Rigg's Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, was a contributing writer for Saturday Night Live, along with the comic strip, Strange Brew, and also owned and operated his own comedy club, The Comedy Cabaret.

Maruska is one of the Twin Cities "funniest women." She will delight with her stories of life, love and family...told in her unique and unexpected style.

Harris is a comedian and magician who has been featured on ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates.

Schommer spends his time in the popular Last Laugh showcase in Minneapolis.

And Tarrant, who is known as the Diva of Twin Cities comedy, is the driving force behind the Parkers Prairie show, and continually engages and entertains audiences across the Midwest.
