Share in the fun at the Expo

Great entertainment, informative exhibitors, exciting prizes and good ol' family fun can be found at this year's Lifestyles Expo 2010.

The event, set for this Saturday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Viking Plaza Mall in Alexandria, is hosted by the Echo Press and co-sponsored by Pete's County Market and KSAX-TV.

There is no cost for the event, which features nearly 80 vendors and a variety of entertainment.

The comedic singing duo Tina and Lena will perform at 11:30 a.m. Also returning are dancers from Alexandria Just for Kix, who will perform at 1 p.m.

Throughout the expo, Music on the Mall will be provided by Livewire Entertainment. All entertainment will take place across from Alex Travel.

You also don't want to miss the opportunity to register for door prizes. Many exhibitors will have drawings at their individual booths as well.

The entertainers

•Tina and Lena - 11:30 a.m.: For 25 years, Tina and Lena have entertained audiences throughout the Upper Midwest and around the U.S. with a rich blend of music, humor and high-energy fun.

The two witty, wild and wonderful women share their favorite jokes and songs for audiences of all kinds. The popular comedy and singing duo brag they don't have silver hair - yet 25 years of laugh lines are clearly visible.

Annette "Lena" Hustad has degrees in music therapy from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and in music education from Augsburg College, Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota, Morris. She taught K-12 music for 10 years and served on the Minnewaska School Board for 12 years.

She and her husband, Grant, live in Glenwood. They have four daughters, four "sons-in-love" and three granddaughters.

Susan "Tina" Edwards taught K-12 physical education and elementary music and coached after receiving a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Morris. She worked in radio and advertising for 15 years.

Sue and her husband, Allen, live in Alexandria. They have five children, a "son-in-love," a "daughter-in-love," and three granddaughters.

Hustad and Edwards were high school classmates in Canby. They are now both active in their churches and communities, along with their full-time careers as the international entertainment and motivational act of Tina and Lena.

•Just for Kix - 1 p.m.: Just for Kix offers team-based precision dance team instruction in more than 185 communities, teaching various dance styles, including high kick, jazz, ballet, hip hop and lyrical.

Individuals who take part in team dance activities develop socialization skills, achieve a heightened sense of self-esteem, and learn key components in maintaining a healthy and physically fit lifestyle.
