Runestone revelations

Geologist and author Scott Wolter talked about his research that supports the authenticity of the Kensington Runestone during "A Night at the Runestone Museum" fundraiser held recently. Wolter's latest book, The Hooked X: Key to the Secret History of North America, lends new credence to the Runestone. It explores the role the Cistercian Templars may have had in carving the stone about 130 years before Christopher Columbus is credited with discovering America. In his informal presentation, Wolter challenged State Archeologist Scott Anfinson, who has expressed doubts about the Runestone's authenticity, to a debate. Wolter also suggested holding a hearing at the Capitol and having experts testify about the research on the stone. Wolter said that if the Runestone is genuine, it is the most important historical artifact in the state, if not in the country. "The time has come to get to the bottom of this thing once and for all," he said.
