Two arrested, third sought in Dilworth VFW burglary

FARGO -- Two people were arrested and police are looking for a third in connection with a burglary early today at the Dilworth VFW.

Dilworth, Moorhead and Clay County authorities responded to a security alarm at 1:07 a.m. at the club at 1505 Center Ave. N.

Two males were seen running from the business. One of them was picked up by a vehicle waiting in the Slumberland parking lot, Moorhead police Lt. Tory Jacobson said.

Dilworth police arrested one of the men seen fleeing the VFW, while Moorhead police pursued the vehicle with the other two suspects to Wall Street in north Moorhead and across the Red River into Fargo.

The vehicle stopped in the MeritCare North Fargo parking lot at 2601 Broadway. Residents of New Horizons Manor just to the south saw the suspects flee the vehicle into the park behind the high-rise, Fargo police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

The vehicle's alleged driver, Jogenia Franklin, 42, of Dilworth, was arrested by Moorhead police and booked into the Cass County Jail as a fugitive from justice.

Police K-9 units attempted to track the other suspect but couldn't find him, Lykken said.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the VFW, Jacobson said.
