Helping the hungry, hearing Christmas wishes

There were smiles, tears, hesitation, excitement and more during the 12th annual Echo Press Santa Day.

More than 200 kids were photographed with Santa during the Saturday event at the newspaper office. The event is an annual fundraiser for the food shelf.

A total of 19 boxes of food and almost $90 in cash were donated by families and will be given to the Douglas County Outreach Food Shelf.

All the children who had their picture taken with Santa will appear in a special Christmas publication inserted in the Friday, December 18 issue of the Echo Press.

Beginning at noon on December 11, parents can pick up their free photos at the newspaper during normal business hours.
