Group is collecting items for soldiers: Blue Star Mothers organizes 'Thanks for Giving' project
The Blue Star Mothers of Alexandria is inviting the public to donate items to send to soldiers overseas for its "Thanks for Giving" project.
Care packages with the donated items will be sent to troops overseas. Organizers said this is a great way to show support and to give encouragement to those soldiers who are defending the country's greatest treasure - freedom.
Blue Star Mothers of Alexandria is organized by a group of proud local moms of sons and daughters serving in the U.S. military.
Every donation and letter will be received with the deepest appreciation, said organizers. The Blue Star Mothers group accepts all responsibility for shipping and handling of packages sent to the troops.
If you know of someone serving in the military overseas who would appreciate a package and/or letter, contact the Blue Star Mothers by mailing the person's name and address to Blue Star Mothers, P.O. Box 1205, Alexandria, MN 56308.
