Minnesota Food and Wine Festival set for September 11-13 at Carlos Creek Winery

The 2009 Minnesota Food and Wine Festival is set for September 11-13 at Carlos Creek Winery.

This year the festival will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

There will be no parking fee this year and the admission cost for those 12 and older will be $1.

There are 139 vendors this year and applications are still being received on a daily basis.

Relax and listen to seven musical groups on three stages, including "Lamont Cranston" booked for the evening barn dance at 8 p.m. on Friday.

The annual grape stomp is planned for Saturday and Sunday. Guests are invited to cheer on their favorite stompers or join in the fun.

There will also be a shuttle bus to bring guests from Alexandria to the grape stomp.

The bus will pick up hotel guests at Alexandria hotels who will all receive complimentary passes from their hotels.

Those not staying at a hotel but interested in a ride will be picked up by the shuttle at the Viking Plaza Mall on the hour, beginning at 9 a.m. for a $5/round trip fare. The buses will run continuously all day.
