Faith events: Awana and handbells
Awana starts at Covenant
An Awana program is underway at the Alexandria Covenant Church, but kids are still welcome to join. It is held each Wednesday from 6:25 to 8 p.m. and runs through the end of the school year. It's aimed at children 3 ½ years old by Sept. 1 through Grade 5.
A ministry of the church, Awana includes Bible teaching, fast paced games, activities and scripture memorization. Awana's goal is to teach kids to know, love and serve God, the church said.
