Presentation to inform public about Alzheimer’s
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria will offer a presentation that provides information for families and friends who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease. The public is invited to attend. There is no charge.
The event, entitled “It’s Alzheimer’s: It’s Time for Extraordinary Love,” will be held Sunday, October 6 at the church, 805 Rosewood Lane.
The first part of the presentation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch. Part two will follow from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Pastor Curt Seefeldt, director of church relations for the Lutheran Home Association, will facilitate discussion on Alzheimer’s diagnosis, treatment options, answers to spiritual questions and family care.
Seefeldt wrote It’s Alzheimer’s: It’s Time for Extraordinary Love, published by The Lutheran Home Association (TLHA). The booklet provides tips to help individuals understand how the disease progresses, how family and friends can provide quality care, how to approach necessary legal and financial adjustments and reassurance from God’s Word.
A Bible study and leader’s guide is also available. In addition, TLHA offers a DVD produced by AboutAlzOrg in partnership with Alliance for Aging Research that describes the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
