Wiemer will teach concepts that allow artists to find strong abstract shapes in scenes. He will also teach about the different types of contrasts and how they add drama to painting.

Participants will be able to explore composition and how to simplify a scene through the process of distilling.

An award-winning artist and illustrator, Wiemer was trained as a graphic designer and has painted in water media most of his life.

He is a past president of the Minnesota Watercolor Society and has taught classes and workshops for more than 25 years.

The cost is $160 for members and $190 for non-members. To register, call Dori Otterson at (320) 491-4549 or Ruth Ann Nodsle at (320) 808-4124.
