Local photo club members displayed their work at Douglas County Fair
The Evansville Art Center's (EAC) First Thursday of the Month Photo Club had several photos on display by members at the recent Douglas County Fair in Alexandria.
Van Gooch, Nicole Torgrimson, Sherry Werner, Scott Keehn, Claudine and Truman Grove, Barb Johnson, Anne Osterby and Ford Johnson participated with some of their favorite photos.
Several ribbons earned included Gooch's grand champion purple ribbon, five blue ribbons, one red and one white ribbon.
Torgrimson earned one grand champion purple, three blue, one red and four white. Werner earned three blue, two red and one white. Keehn earned one blue and two red.
Claudine earned Best of Show, a purple grand champion and a blue ribbon with her exposed tree roots photo. Truman earned a purple grand champion.
Barb earned a purple grand champion. Teenager Ford earned a purple grand champion ribbon with his 4-H photography project.
EAC's Photo Club meets the first Thursday of the month, year round, at EAC from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Anyone is welcome to attend. Bring a camera and a few recent photos for show and tell. The photo club strives to have a theme for show and tell photos each month. The theme for the September 5 meeting is trains.
In keeping with the train theme for September, the guest speaker for the September 5 photo club meeting will be Mike Vandenberg, assistant director of admissions at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
Anyone interested in photography or trains is welcome to attend. Vandenberg will talk to the photo club about the fun of photography and his special interest in train photography.
He will have an exhibit of several large train photographs at the EAC Gallery during September.
