Learn about iPads and history at fall classes

Learn the ins and outs of the iPad

A Community Education class on the basics of iPads will be held Wednesday, September 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jefferson High School Media Center in Alexandria. Cost is $29.

This class is for those who are considering getting an iPad or who just recently purchased one.

Attendees will learn the basics of what the iPad can do, get an overview and learn some basic skills of using it, such as setting it up, using apps, e-mail, photos, maps and more.

Instructor Tim Litt owns a marketing and computer software business.

Join historian ON lakes cruise

The public is invited to join Rachel Barduson for "A View From the Lake" on a cruise touring Lakes Darling and L'Homme Dieu.

In "Lake Stories Shape Our History Pontoon Tour," Barduson will walk participants through history as they tour the different hot spots on the chain of lakes.

An open air pontoon will depart from the Arrowwood Resort docks in Alexandria on Thursday, September 12 at 1 p.m. for a two-hour cruise. The cost is $25.
