Radio theater performs 'Bon Voyage'
Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:
Barry is a lonely, retired widower who lives in northern Minnesota on The Range. His only child, a daughter, disappeared in 1970 after getting in trouble with the law in her teens. A fateful knock on his door in July of 1994 changed his life forever.
Directed by Kevin Lee, When Hope Returns will hit the stage on Friday, June 21 at 7 p.m. at LAT. It stars Kevin Lee, Paige Mackedanz, Keri Mohror and Mary Pohl. Bob Piotrowski will play the keyboard, with Mike Roers performing the sound effects.
When Hope Returns was written by Minneapolis author Dennis Nau and adapted for radio theater by Ann Hermes with permission from the author.
ON THE AIR
Two spinster sisters embark on an ocean voyage hoping to forget about their past. They mistakenly think that the voyage is the answer to leaving the murder they committed for profit behind. But the past has caught up with them.
From the old time radio series Lights Out, Bon Voyage was directed by Ann Hermes and stars Dedra Zwieg, Keri Mohror, and Kip Sundlee. Music is by Bob Piotrowski. Sound effects were designed and edited by Ann Hermes.
It will air on Sunday, June 23 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM.
