Monday, May 27

8 a.m. to noon Parkers Prairie Legion Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast, Parkers Prairie High School old gymnasium. Memorial Day Service to take place in new gymnasium.

Inspiration Peak Legion Post 527 of Millerville will host Memorial Day honors at six local cemeteries: Millerville Cemetery 9 a.m., Trinity Cemetery 9:30 a.m., Leaf Mountain Cemetery 10 a.m., Urbank Cemetery 10:20 a.m., St. James Cemetery 10:40 a.m., Ebenezer Cemetery 11 a.m. A potluck lunch at the Legion Hall will follow; all veterans and their spouses are invited to attend.

9 a.m. to noon First Congregational UCC, Alexandria, will host a pancake breakfast. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, juice, fruit cup, coffee and milk. Cost is $6 for ages 10 and older and $3 for those younger than 10.

10 a.m. Osakis Memorial Day Parade from Park Osagi to Lakeside Cemetery, with a ceremony at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Ceremony guest speaker is Tim Sutton of First Presbyterian Church of Osakis, and he will provide the invocation and benediction. In the event of poor weather, services will be held at Osakis Public School; (320) 859-2117.

10:15 a.m. Brandon Memorial Day Parade from Brandon school to Legion Park with a program at the park at 10:20 a.m. A program will also take place at the Brandon Auditorium at 11 a.m. with speaker Major General Gerald Lang. Lunch will follow the program for a fee.

10:15 a.m. The West Douglas County American Legion Auxiliary Post 188 will host a dinner following the American legion parade and program. Program speaker is Brittany Johnson, Girls State representative from Evansville. Come to the Evansville School west entrance. Dinner cost is $8 for adults, $3 for ages 5 to 12 and free for those younger than 5.
