On Saturday, December 1, Cub Scouts from Pack 416 held their Pinewood Derby at Viking Plaza Mall in Alexandria.

Thirty-three boys participated in this year's Pack Derby. Each boy designed, constructed and decorated his car from a kit provided to him.

Each kit contained a block of wood, axles and wheels. Each car can weigh no more than 5 ounces. The three fastest cars were built by Hunter Mohr, first place; Logan Peterson, second place; and Torii Chamberlin, third place.

Boys in 1st through 5th grade are eligible to participate in the Cub Scout program. The Pinewood Derby is just one of many activities the Scouts participate in throughout the year.
