'Knock Em Dead' auditions set

The Grant County Prairie Wind Players are hosting auditions for the fall production of a mystery dinner theater, Knock Em Dead. Auditions will be held on Thursday and Friday, September 9-10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roosevelt Hall in Barrett.

The play is set in a nightclub on a rainy evening, the night of the finals of a talent search. There is a murder and the audience gets to help solve it.

There are five men's parts and three women's parts including Lou, a former singer; Hal, a ventriloquist; Roxie, a stand-up comic; Bamby, a blonde with measurements higher than her IQ; Ian, who wants to make it big in show business; Lotta, who has been kept locked away from society but is now singing the blues; The Great Somnamnulo, a hypnotist; and Vinnie, a second-rate hood.

Rehearsals will begin Monday, September 13 with performances on Thursday through Saturday, October 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 17 at 2 p.m. Dinner theater will be served on Friday and Saturday nights.
