Alexienne Chorus offers free membership nights

The Alexienne Chorus of Alexandria is offering a free performance opportunity this summer that will result in the opportunity to perform with the chorus in August.

Beginning Tuesday, July 9, women who like to sing are invited to come to six Tuesday rehearsals beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Bethany Community Chapel located at 10th and Lark Street in Alexandria.

These free membership nights include learning three songs, vocal production, social time and sharing the love of singing.

This six-week membership and summer performance opportunity does not obligate participants to any further commitment in the chorus.

The performance date is Sunday, August 18, singing as special guest musicians in several Parkers Prairie churches during the morning services.

Sweet Adelines International Choruses feature women's barbershop-style music in four-part harmony: bass, baritone, lead and tenor.

Current members of the Alexienne Chorus are from Alexandria, Barrett, Brandon, Carlos, Evansville, Herman, Hoffman, Starbuck, Parkers Prairie and Wadena.

The chorus is a member of the Sweet Adelines International Organization and is directed by Sharon Kempf of Wadena.
