Adult Basic Education classes offered

Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes, general education development (GED) preparation and English as a Second Language (ESL) will be offered this winter/spring through Community Education at the Alexandria Technical and Community College Interior Design Building.

Classes will begin the week of Monday, January 6 and will be held mornings, afternoons and evenings on various days.

Community Education will continue to offer free online GED or ACCUPLACER test preparation classes. It also has new online programs to offer.

Learner Web is a regional site that offers information about college readiness, career pathways, specific sections on some health care fields and more. Northstar is a computer literacy program, and Key Train provides workforce preparation tools.

All of the online programs can be accessed from most home computers and participants can be connected to one of the teachers for support and evaluation.

Anyone age 16 or older who has basic educational needs and is not presently enrolled in a high school is welcome to attend. Students can begin at any time during the year and finish when their goals have been met.
