District 206’s annual Elementary Fun Run had an unbelievable turnout this year, according to Travis Hochhalter of District 206. A total of 295 5th and 6th graders ran hard, comprising one of District 206’s largest runs.

The runners included students from Voyager (VES), Woodland (WES), St. Mary’s (SMS), Miltona (MES), Carlos (CES), Garfield (GES) and Zion.

The event is about one mile in length and is free to all students who wish to participate. Boys and girls who finished sixth through 15th in their divisions received pins.

Second through fifth place finishers received medals, and each grade level winner received a trophy. All pre-registered runners that finished received finisher T-shirts, courtesy of sponsoring businesses.

All participants’ names were put into a random drawing for a bike. The winners were Georgia Reemts from Shutter’s class at Lincoln and Tanner Goeke from Melrose’s class at Voyager.
