Cyber Safety and Theory of Mind presentations scheduled for October 30

Diversity Resource Action Alliance (DRAA), in partnership with Alexandria District 206, will sponsor two presentations, Cyber Safety and Theory of Mind, on Tuesday, October 30. These events are free and open to the public.

Cyber Safety: Catching up with High Tech Kids in a High Tech World by Dave Eisenmann will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Discovery Middle School media center in Alexandria.

Find out about potential risks associated with the wide ranging technologies kids use, from cyber bullying and harassment to the dangers of pornography. Learn why kids should be cautious about what information they share online and be made aware of the permanency of their digital record.

Get tips for maintaining open dialog with kids about technology and understand the significant role you play in helping kids be responsible and safe in today's high tech world.

Theory of Mind, written by Ken LaZebnik, will be performed at the Discovery Middle School small gym from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The play paints a sensitive yet clear-eyed portrait of a self-aware young man with Asperger's Syndrome, replete with all the tugs, shifts and about-faces found on the autism spectrum.
