Library classes to show how to borrow e-books

Do you own an e-reader or tablet but don't know how to check out e-books from a library? The Douglas County Library in Alexandria will host several "Help! I have an e-reader/tablet" classes that will show people how to use the library's Overdrive Service to check out e-books.

The following classes will be offered in January:

--Library e-books for Kindle: Wednesday, January 16, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

--Library e-books for Nook: Thursday, January 17, 1:30 to 3 p.m. and Thursday, January 24, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

--Library e-books for iPad: Friday, January 18, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and

2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Be sure to bring a fully charged e-reader, library card and Amazon password, for those with a Kindle. Borrowing library e-books on a Nook requires a computer, so bring a laptop if available and Nook USB cord.

The Douglas County Library shares a collection of e-books and downloadable audiobooks with other libraries in Viking Library System. They are available to library card holders at no charge through a program called Overdrive.
