Douglas County Library activities planned

It's the dog days of summer, but not at the library.

School is right around the corner, but there are still a few activities to look forward to at the Douglas County Library.

On Tuesday, August 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the library will offer ice cream and a back-to-school craft. This event is open to anyone with kids entering or returning to school. Drop in any time during the event.

Friday, August 31 brings the premiere of The Hunger Games. Come to the library at 1:30 p.m. for a special screening of this movie based on the book series by Suzanne Collins.

The Hunger Games is rated PG-13 for intense violent thematic material and disturbing images, all involving teens. The movie runs for a total of 2 hours and 22 minutes. If bringing younger children, parents must stay with them for the duration of the movie. Popcorn will be provided.
