Celebrate Recovery to host fall kickoff featuring Connie Lee Stich and family

Celebrate Recovery is hosting a fall kickoff evening and concert by Connie Lee Stich and family at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 at Alexandria Covenant Church, 4005 Dakota Street (behind Target). Everyone is welcome.

Born and raised into a musical family near Urbank, Stich grew up listening to the sound of country music legends up on the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville, Tennessee. By age 3, Stich started singing professionally with her dad, Ben Stich Sr., and three older sisters, Detsie, Sharon and Dory, at weddings, church services and other community events.

At the age of 12, Stich made her first record in Nashville and, by age 14, began touring with the Grand Ole Opry Road Show. At 20, she was nominated the "Most Promising Country Female" by the magazine Music City News.

While in Nashville, Stich worked closely with Chet Atkins for 10 years, along with many others such as Minnie Pearl, Charlie Pride, Ray Price, Ricky Nelson and Merle Haggard. She plays the piano, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, steel guitar, auto harp and the bagpipes. Connie Lee and her husband, Kevin Cunningham own and operate Tennessee Roadhouse in Alexandria.

The concert will be followed by refreshments and fellowship. A free will offering will be accepted. Childcare is available.
