Vintage Car Club to host 26th annual car show

Last year, hundreds of people checked out the Vintage Car Club’s 25th annual Car Show at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. This year’s car show is set for Sunday, June 29, and organizers said they’re expecting about 250 cars to be exhibited. It’s an event for all ages with kids’ activities and prize drawings. Check out the sweet lineup of classic cars in town this Sunday during the Vintage Car Club’s 26th annual Car Show.

The show will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and general admission is $3.

Registration for those with a car to show is held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds.

During last year’s show, there were about 300 cars on display and Vintage Car Club member Jerry Cline said he expects at least 250 cars to be on-site this year.

The show goes on rain or shine.

The cars are the stars of the show, but there’s also plenty to keep children entertained during the event. Model car kits will be available for kids to assemble and take home. There will be drawings for kids’ prizes, too, including two bikes.

Plus, a food venue will be on-site to offer a cool drink, lunch or a snack.

This year, a swap meet will also be held. There’s no charge for vendors to set up their swap meet goods, just the cost of admission to the show, Cline said.

At 2 p.m., 25 trophies will be awarded to owners of outstanding classic vehicles.
