5k and zero k added to Run for the Roses
Theatre L’Homme Dieu’s (TLHD) annual Run for the Roses, which will be held Saturday, May 3, has two new additions: a 5k fun run/walk and a zero k race, which is three feet long from start to finish.
All fitness levels, ages and experience are welcome. Starting near downtown’s Big Ole, participants will follow the Central Lakes Trail.
Registration begins at noon at Big Ole in downtown Alexandria. The 5k is at 1:24 p.m. at Big Ole, and the zero k is at 6:24 p.m. at the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum (MLMM) in Alexandria. Proceeds will support TLHD.
Performance T-shirts and refreshments are available for all participants.
The annual Kentucky Derby party and fundraiser will start at 4 p.m. at MLMM. It will include a live, big screen broadcast of the Kentucky Derby, entertainment, prizes and Southern-style food.
Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite fancy hat or Kentucky derby attire.
Derby party tickets are available at Bremer Bank, Elden’s Fresh Foods and Interlachen Inn, all in Alexandria. They are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
Register for the 5k race online at www.tlhd.org. The cost is $20 in advance and $25 on race day.
