Community Education offers classes

chess class

Youth in grades 2-6 are invited to learn logic, strategy and have fun at a Community Education class. Chess Club is for all students interested in learning more about chess, from beginners to more experienced chess players.

Sean and James Foster, experienced chess players and competitors, will lead the class. They have a passion for teaching chess to students of all levels and ages.

Class is Wednesdays, March 19 and 26 and April 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. at the Voyager Elementary School art room in Alexandria. Cost is $34. Bring a snack for after school.

Apps, Apps and More Apps

The public is invited to come learn about and explore the world of apps on the iPad at an upcoming Community Education class, “Apps, Apps and More Apps.”

The class requires that attendees are familiar with iPad basics. It will look into various apps in detail.

Those who attend will learn about the vast variety of apps available, as well as learn the functionality of various apps that are particularly helpful.

Instructor Tim Litt owns a marketing and computer software business.

Class is Wednesday, March 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Jefferson High School in Alexandria. Cost is $29.
