Fun Run, Second Chance Prom to benefit upcoming Polar Bear Plunge
The public is invited to join Acts of Sincere Kindness for its first Fun Run and Second Chance Prom benefiting the Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics Minnesota.
The Fun Run will take place on Saturday, February 22. The cost is $5, and participants will be able to pay when they arrive at the final venue, Backroads Steakhouse in Evansville.
Participants can begin at any of the participating bars or restaurants, including Brandon Municipal, Bullfrog’s in Hoffman, Knotty Pine in Elbow Lake, K-Town Bar in Kensington, Melby Outpost, Millerville Municipal and Old Mill in Urbank.
To get from place to place, participants are allowed to use any means of transportation, from snowmobiles to cars to party buses. Along the way, participants can register to win prizes; their odds will rise for each venue they visit. The Fun Run will end at Backroads Steakhouse in Evansville between 5 and 7 p.m.
Second Chance Prom will start at 8 p.m. and go until midnight at Railroad and 2nd Event Center in Evansville.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up in retro or fabulous prom attire, though dressing up is not required. Cost is $7 for singles and $10 for couples. DJ Wonderful will play hits from the 1970s to today.
Acts of Sincere Kindness is a small but active group of individuals that helps with all types of charity events throughout the year. Past events include The Relay for Life, Botzet 5k, Jingle Bells and others.
