Author to speak on Alzheimer’s book at Ecumen

Local author Lynda Converse has released her first book, His Name Was Merle: Our Journey through Alzheimer’s Disease.

The public is invited to a presentation on Converse’s book on Thursday, January 30 at 2 p.m. at Ecumen Bethany Community in Alexandria.

Converse will present on her experiences as an adult child and caregiver to a parent with Alzheimer’s disease. After the presentation, Converse will be available to answer questions and sign purchased books.

In her book, Converse shares the story of her father’s life with Alzheimer’s and the impact on their family. His Name Was Merle captures her family’s treasured memories, detailing stories of life before Alzheimer’s that show the character of their parents.

Converse gives a snapshot of the journey from diagnosis to hospitalization and beyond.
