This program will feature the music of America’s indigenous peoples, as well as the songs and instruments of America’s immigrants and Pelon’s own compositions.

“I believe in the importance of local music and local stories, and I like to celebrate its great variety and range,” Pelon said. “This program gives me a chance to do that.”

Among the instruments Pelon will use are the Native American flute, concertina, pennywhistle, ocarina, eagle bone flute, guitar, recorder and psalmodikon.

Pelon has performed throughout the U.S. and in China, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Australia and New Zealand.

Though she is mostly known for the instruments she plays, she has also won recognition for her soprano voice and for her compositions and arrangements.

Pelon is the recipient of a 2014 Arts Tour Minnesota Grant Award from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
