Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:

When it comes to making purchases, buying a car ranks right up there in the feel good category, and that’s what brings Fred out of his deep funk in Alexandria playwright Bob Sievers’ show, A Two-Syllable Word.

Fred’s two friends think they have introduced the perfect car to him, but Fred has a few surprises up his sleeve.

The show takes place on Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. Directed by Bob Sievers, the show stars Joe Korkowski, Bruce Wegner, Pete Woit and Kathe Nelson.

Writer Damon Runyon loved to pen stories about Brooklyn, New York and gambling on horses or just about anything. Audiences will be treated to an adaptation of Runyon’s Princess O’Hara on Sunday, March 30 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM.

The show was directed by Ann Hermes and stars Tim Long, Kevin Lee, Benjamin Roers, Bob Sievers, Leah Drexler and Kent Garlinghouse, who also performed sound effects with Mike Roers. Bob Piotrowski arranged and performed the music.
