Catch a sneak peek of ‘Elton John: Million Dollar Piano’

Carlson Music Center in Alexandria invites the public to attend a free screening of a 20-minute, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano during a special wine and cheese event on Saturday, March 22 at 7 p.m.

The movie will be shown in theaters on Tuesday, March 18 and Wednesday, March 26.

The movie will capture the experience of John’s Million Dollar Piano revue that he performs at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, which debuted in September 2011.

The movie includes all of his hits, including Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting, I’m Still Standing, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Crocodile Rock and Your Song.

The centerpiece of the performance, the “million dollar piano,” is a state-of-the-art instrument collaboration between Sir Elton John and Yamaha Entertainment Group of America. It features more than 68 LED video screens that display imagery to complement each of the show’s songs.

Attendees of the sneak peek will also be treated to a 35-minute segment from Yamaha’s 125th Anniversary Dealer Concert, an event held at Disneyland’s Hyperion Theater in Anaheim, California. It features John performing on the Yamaha Disklavier with a 60-piece orchestra.
