Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:

Danny MacIntyre Meets the Molecule is a tale about the plight of a water molecule that’s tired of reincarnating as a snowflake in Minnesota.

This time, the molecule doesn’t want to become slush and evaporate only to face the other water molecules in heaven who brag about their earthly exploits. This time, the molecule is going to do something fantastical with the aid of Danielle “Danny” MacIntyre.

The show will be Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. It is directed by Mike Roers and stars CeCe Odden, Paige Mackedanz, Karen Hildebrandt, Gary Lund and Rick Dusterhoft, who also will perform the sound effects. Bob Piotrowski will perform the music.

What would happen if fairytales were fracture? Kansas playwright Glenn Hascall has come up with three new takes on familiar tales.

Portraying the characters in Goldilocks, Country Mouse/City Mouse and Little Red Riding Hood are Amanda Novak, Matt Pilgrim, Pete Woit, Betsy Ostenson, Bruce Wegner, Curt Ostenson, and Judy Berger.

Sound effects were performed by Bruce Wegner and Mike Roers with Bob Piotrowski on the keyboard. The show was directed by Ann Hermes and will air on Sunday, March 9 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM.
