People will audition by reading sections from the script, which will be available the evening of auditions, as well as doing some improvisation exercises. No prior experience is necessary, and all are welcome.

The show has roles for one female (will be playing blind, any age 20-65), several males (ages 20-65) and one teenage girl (who looks/plays age 13-14).

Wait Until Dark follows a sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, who are about to meet their match.

They have traced the location of a mysterious doll containing several grams of heroin to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy.

What follows is deception, murder, charades and a deadly game of cat and mouse. When darkness falls, the convicts are left to maneuver in the dark until the game ends.

Wait Until Dark opened on Broadway in 1966, starring Lee Remick, Robert Duvall and Mitchell Ryan.

One year later, a film adaptation directed by Terence Young hit the big screen, starring Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin. The film ranked tenth on Bravo’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments for its climactic scene.
