LAT presents Thanksgiving show

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:


The Bishop’s Wife was originally a 1947 Samuel Goldwyn romantic comedy film. It starred Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven, who reprised their roles for a 1948 radio theater adaptation.

The bishop is so caught up in his desire to build a grand cathedral that he loses sight of his relationship with his wife and daughter. When seeking funding for the church, he asks for divine help, which comes in the form of Dudley, a suave angel.

The show is Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m. at LAT. It is directed by Bob Sievers and stars Rexford Sweetwater, Keri Mohror, Quincy Roers, Scott Giannone and Carrie Davis. Music is by Bob Piotrowski, with sound effects by Scott Giannone.


LAT will offer its Thanksgiving show, House Poor, on Sunday, November 24 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM.

Written by Toronto playwright Frank Busche, it is about a couple who reclaims the house that was repossessed by their bank in an economic downturn.

The show was directed by Ann Hermes and stars Kip Sundlee and Claudia Bursch as the couple, with appearances by Joan Piotrowski and Jamie Sandberg, who also perform the sound effects. Music is by Bob Piotrowski.
