57 Chevy launches courthouse concerts May 25

A big crowd enjoys the comfort of shade trees while listening to Billy and the Willies last summer.

For the eighth consecutive summer, free concerts will be performed at the Douglas County Courthouse lawn on Thursday evenings.

Running May 25 through Aug. 31, the weekly 7 p.m. concerts are organized by the Red Willow Arts Coalition and sponsored by Anderson Funeral Home and Elden's Fresh Food, as well as performance night sponsors.

In case of rain, concerts will be canceled except for Bob & The Beachcombers on July 6 and the Rockin' Hollywoods on July 20, which will move to the Alexandria Area High School Performing Arts Center. Cancellations will be announced to area radio stations by 2 p.m.
