Kensington Area Heritage Society announces Saturday event

For the past several years, the Kensington Area Heritage Society has hosted a research forum focusing on the Kensington runestone. This year's event will be an open house at the museum on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 10 Central Ave. S. in Kensington.

There will be a brief tribute at about 1:30 p.m. to Dick Nielsen, runic researcher who passed away in 2016.

This open house is especially for those interested in the Kensington runestone story and will provide an opportunity to browse through the historical files onsite. KAHS also has files on some 400 local individuals, families and businesses, many of which have connections to the runestone.

For more information, call KAHS at (320) 965-2573.
