Sound Idea to give concert at Evansville Art Center

The local duo of Tim Cochran and Doug Tatge, a.k.a. Sound Idea, will perform on Friday, August 2 at 7 p.m. at the Evansville Art Center.

Known for their light rock and folk music from the 1960s and 70s, they also offer an occasional Irish ballad. Along with their vocals, they blend the guitar and bouzouki (an eight stringed Greek instrument) into a unique sound

Cochran teaches at West Central High School in Barrett. Tatge worked at Alexandria Technical and Community College for 40 years but is now retired. Both live in Alexandria.

Cochran and Tatge have been singing and making music for decades but came together a couple years ago to create Sound Idea.

Featuring music from a broad spectrum, audiences will hear songs ranging from the Kingston Trio to Van Morrison to the Beatles, from John Denver to Del Shannon.

Playing "yesterday's music our way" has become their motto as they offer familiar, easy listening.
