Time for the circus!

The Alexandria Shrine Circus will entertain crowds at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Friday, June 21, with two shows at 2:30 and 7 p.m.

George Carden Circus International presents family entertainment with a three-ring production.

Headed by ringmaster Audrey Michelle, the circus features many colorful and unique acts. For the first time at the Shrine Circus, a presenter will bring overtones of the Arabian Nights with performing camels.

Trainer Giancarlo will interact with tigers and a liger. Audiences will be treated to performing elephants, mini elephant Baby Perla and comical canines.

High-powered toys rev up the energy with ATV riders maneuvering obstacles and risk-taking motorcycle riders. There will also be several other daring acts.

Tickets are $10 each or $50 for six and can be purchased at Pete's County Market or Elden's Fresh Foods in Alexandria or at the event.
