Deitz named Section 8AA Triple AAA winner
Ted Deitz, a senior at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria, has been named the Section 8AA Triple AAA (academics, arts and athletics) winner and will advance to state competition.
Deitz and JHS senior Shanee' Herd were nominated to represent JHS in the AAA program.
AAA winners are students who participate in Minnesota State High School League athletic programs, fine arts activities and carry a 3.0 or higher grade point average.
Deitz, the son of Steve and Amy Deitz, is involved in student council, 2120 Team, SLAM, math league, football, basketball, band, choir, JHS Carolers and theater
He has received numerous honors in many of his activities and is an A honor roll member.
State AAA Award recipients are selected by a multi-level process involving the League's member schools and administrative regions. League officials will announce the four award recipients, a girl and a boy from both a Class A and Class AA school, at an on-court recognition ceremony held during the boys basketball state tournament on Saturday, March 23. Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.
