Bremness Gallery presents "Open to the World...the Artwork of Faythe Mills" on the grounds of the historic Ann Bickle Heritage House, Glenwood. The show is free and open to the public. It runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through July 29.

Mills knew art was her talent and returned to school at age 37 to unlock her artistic vision, which she draws from life's experiences.

Her passion is fine art, working with pastels, watercolor, ink wash, pencil and acrylic.

A graphic design degree from North Hennepin Community College enabled Mills to start her own business in Glenwood: Graphics by Faythe.

While children are still her favorite subjects, her travels have opened up a new world of inspiration.

With her work in photography, graphic art and a lifetime of observing and capturing, it was a natural progression to illustrate children's books.

She has illustrated The Captain's Hat and The Adventures of Molly and Skunky by Deb Mercier and Missing My Best Friend by Norma Thorstad Knapp.
