Alexandria Area Arts Association (AAAA) Theatre will host Strings of Brass, Silver and Gold: The Gaelic Harp and a Thousand Years of Tradition on Friday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Internationally acclaimed artists Ann and Charlie Heymann will present a diverse and engaging show with a replica Gaelic harp with gold, silver and brass strings, wooden flute, cittern, button accordion, guitar and bodhran.

Under the name Clairseach (Irish for Gaelic harp), the Heymanns perform a broad repertoire - from traditional and historical to Ann's own compositions - throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia. They give presentations on Gaelic harp mythology and the performance of medieval poetry.

Ann is a frequent leader of workshops and master classes. Her definitive solo CD "Queen of Harps" documents the virtuosic capability of the Gaelic harp.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the AAAA box office Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., or at the door the evening of the show.
